Oliver is a Partner at Lewis Townsend LLP whose practice focuses on M&A and data protection. His clients include stock-exchange listed companies and household names from a range of sectors such as heavy industry, food manufacturing, hospitality, data science, aviation and construction.

Much of Oliver’s work relates to international M&A transactions involving Japanese companies, though he also regularly advises UK businesses on corporate transactions, share issues, shareholder matters and company regulation. In addition to multiple successful acquisitions of UK businesses by Japanese listed companies, Oliver has recently completed a complex share buy-back and a cross-border convertible loan note issue for his UK clients.

Oliver is a specialist in data protection and technology law and he has helped dozens of businesses achieve compliance. He has advised a number of very high-profile clients on data protection matters such as data breaches, subject access requests, requests for erasure, audits and cross-border transfers. Oliver also advises on IT contracts, intellectual property matters and other regulatory issues such as consumer protection law.

Oliver has authored cyber-security materials published by the Practical Law Company and has had articles published in the Tax Journal, Society for Computers and Law Journal and the E-Commerce Law and Policy Journal.
